|The SCH B250 from Samsung has made an appearance in stores in Korea. the clamshell phone has a slightly different design then the usual. While the upper half opens up like any normal phone, the inner part which is the main display actually can rotate 90 degrees to become horizontal. Check out the accompanying photograph to get the idea.|
The 2 megapixel camera can swivel all round (360 degrees) ; making it easy to focus anywhere especially for self portraits and video calling. There is a flash on the outer half for taking pictures while in the dark. Additionally, the handset also has multimedia controls on the outside, for playing music etc without opening the clamshell. The handset has a T-Flash memory slot for expanding the memory of the phone if so required.
The B250 is EV-DO based - EV-DO stands for Evolution Data only which has a maximum speed of 2.4 Mbps. Using EV-DO one can browse the Internet at high speeds. EV-DO is much advanced than GPRS and EDGE and can be easily accessed even in confined spaces like subway, etc. DMB, means Digital Media Broadcasting which allows the handset in this case to receive satellite channels. The Samsung SCH B250 even supports TV-out so that one can take advantage of viewing the channels on the big screen; if so required. The same applies for looking at photos, videos on the phone which can be viewed on the TV.
