|At CTIA in Las Vegas, LG was showing off what they were calling the LG550, a phone that appears destined for Sprint's CDMA network here in the USA. The new handset is an EV-DO capable 3G device that supports music and video on demand. It measures 96mm x 48mm x 20mm (3.8" x 1.9" x .8") in size and weighs 119g (4.2oz). It has a somewhat retro look to it, especially when clad in white, but manages to look cool and high tech at the same time - thanks in part to its round, external music controls.|
Some of the highlighted features of the LG550 include Bluetooth stereo support, a 1.3 MP camera , and user changeable face plates. There is also a FM transmitter on-board for listening to the 550's tunes on a nearby radio (great for the car). A microSD/TransFlash slot is available for adding storage to the device, and you will also find a hands free speakerphone function along with speaker independent voice dialing. The main display is a 262k color, 176x220 pixel TFT unit, while the external sub-display is a 96x96 pixel 65k color TFT.
