IT operates from supply voltages as low as 2.4V and can interface to input/output logic circuits with logic-high levels down to 1.5V. 

 

Called the HSDL-3209, it supports a transmission distance up to 50cm and as such is intended for secure infrared financial messaging for wireless point of sales applications.

 

The IrDA standard transceiver supports data rates from 9.6kbit/s to 115kbit/s. The transceiver operates over the -25 to 70°C temperature range.
