Targeted at three different groups of users, Samsung unveiled three new additions to the Ultra series: the Ultra Music - F300, Ultra Video - F500 and Ultra Messaging - i600 a 3G handset that supports HSDPA downloads.
The F300 and F500 are tri-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE devices, both fitted with a two megapixel camera and a 256K colour display. The F300's screen is a 176 x 220, 2.1 inches panel that's touch-sensitive. Designed like a music player - the keypad's tucked away on a slider mechanism - the F300 supports Bluetooth 2.0 stereo audio - aka A2DP - a wide variety of music formats and song downloads. It has an FM radio on board too. There's 100MB on-board memory and more can be added using MicroSD cards.
The Ultra Messaging i600 has a QWERTY keyboard for speedy messaging, a 2.3in, 320 x 240, 65K colour display, runs Windows Mobile 5.0 and supports Web applications such as podcasting and RSS feeders. The device offers high-speed connectivity through WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR allowing faster connections for faster communications. Unlike the other two Ultras, the i600 comes with only a 1.3-megapixel camera on the back and a smaller VGA-resolution cam for video telephony on the front. It is only 11.8mm thick which makes it the slimmest 3G smartphone.
