This is one of the coolest phone ever!

I have had this phone for a few days now and while I like the design of the phone, there are several things I don't like about it. Pros: Attractive Design, Nice Screen (though there are obviously better ones out there) Cons: Low Volume on ear speaker and Speaker-phone (this is my main complaint) overall call quality is not as good as my old phone either GUI design and features arent as good as Nokia or Sony Ericsson battery life should be much longer (only lasts about 3 days, my 2 year old nokia can do the same) A few things that may not be as important (but are to me), Alarm Clock does not have snooze, Calender not as useful as others, phonebook shows both sim contacts and phone contacts with no option to change this...this is important because to have voicedial or personalized ringers you must have the entry stored on your phone, which means deleting the entry from he sim, or having repeat entries in the phonebook (one on sim, one on phone).

the comments by the previous person are "BS"(emphasized)!! all the stuff they said that is not in this fone is all there they're just too stupid to be able to figure out how to change the settings. i've had cell fones since i was 13 from the first one ever made and this is top of the line for its price and league. its the best fone you can get in the market. another amazing thing in this fone which most plp havent noticed is that its got a light sensor for the touch pad. evry time u go in the dark and ur e.g. msging the lights onthe keypad come on. the speaker quality is amazing on both the fone itself and the headset. probably one of the best sounds ive heard. and as far as the GUI goes there are a million places you can download themes to match ur preferences. please disregard the previous idiot.

Screen not visible in daylight as led screen not that bright. Where as the lcd screen of the Nokias means daylight hits the clunky bits of liquid crystals so has high contrast in all light conditions. The SLVR is much like a laptop display - indoor use only. The snag with a mobile phone is that you might want to take a call in the street, or look up a phone number. Likewise access to a number is far faster in a Nokia than with the Motorola SLVR L7. In a Nokia menu system, you press arrow down to get to the first in the list, then the Letter to get to that section in the list then press Green phone to call or button to text. With the Motorola SLVR L7 there are far more steps one additional step is what sort of message do you want to send (that one is missing in the Nokias). There are no short cuts unless you assign a speed dial sequence (which both have). Seems Motorola SLVR L7 is designed to be hung around your neck as art, not to be used. It is as good as not having MP3 player because it is not is a usable form (compare iPod and getto Blaster). The best place for this phone is in a visual design magazine not your pocket.

I dont know how you can say this phone is the same thing as the RAZR. The L7 SLVR that I own has a 100 song Itunes play list, a 512 memory card, and a much stronger and reliable case. It is also very easy to upload music and make custome ringtones for. Plus the headphones that came with it work and sound great.

Does anybody know if you can download a new skin to this phone? I really want a pink one, but after having all the trouble with only being able to have one mp3 as a ringtone saved on the phone, i'm very doubtful! Apart from its looks, this phone is becoming more disappointing by the day! Sorry Motorola but I think you could have made this phone a lot better than it is!

What a rubbish phone. I got it on contract and after only one day I sent it back. Did you know that in America this phone has itunes! Well looks like motorola dont like us too much here. Also I was told it would come with a USB cable, but it didnt and even if it did the camera is so appalling that I doubt I would ba able to see the pictures anyway. My old nokia that I've had for over a year can have 10mins of recording- why oh why does it only have 30secs?? And the menu is just rubbish, the settings are useless and the contact list looks like a jumble. Overall I would severly tell people not to buy this phone.

I have this phone, and it`s very cool, it took me a lot of trouble to install games skins and soft to this phone but it is possible, regarding to mp3 video and images you cant put in as much as your memory stick allows.

Regarding to skins, I downloaded lots from this page, maybe people who doesn`t know how to use technology find this phone bad, but its a very good phone trust me, and you can change the video length, you just have to read the users manual a little bit

This phone is pretty good in its looks, but the software is appalling! I recently bought a 512MB memory card, and now the phone refuses to take photos! plus, all you people who think it might be a good idea to buy one of these cards to have lots of mp3 ringtones, you can forget it! any songs stored on the card can't be used as as ringtones! I cant believe that moto brought out this phone with such huge gaps in their software

being a user of l7 i must this fn has certain advantages as well while having plenty of disadvantages first there is heel of difficulty in downloading anything in it! second u canot place it in upward direction on any flat surface coz ur not going to hera ring then it got speaker on flat body same case when u put it in jeans! no doubt that look that is cool nuff to put ur money eithout thinking ny more n additive advantage of memory card no doubt adds a plus point but what the hell is dat u r making clips of videos while hving memory card!!! point to ponder!!! videon u cant play it on full screen!n it also cannot display having high resolution i found this thing wn i wanted to transfer a picture taken from sonyericsson k508i on it!u know wt it said!file too large to open!!!!! wewwwwwwwwwwww so people having l7 u have to enjoy at any cost coz we have placed f****g money on it!

One thing i don't like about this phone is that it can't view large picture size from other Phones like Nokia. And taking picture is difficult cause you have to hold it steadily for a few seconds to get a clear shot.

I have had this phone sadly for nearly a year, and I have hated every minute of it! The thing was way overpriced, for nothing. I am constantly having problems with it, and as a couple people mentioned above, as soon as I bought the memory card (which was an extra $60!) the phone did the craziest things, like the entire menus changed, the mp3 player option DISSAPEARED, and once we finally reset the settings, the option was back, but then it could not be used. And this was not just my phone, my fiance's phone had the exact same problems, so I think that 2 phones and 2 memory cards with the same issues can't be just a "dud" or one bad phone, also, both of them were replaced within the first week - the speaker went out on mine, and my fiance's just kept freezing. I still have the same issues with the phone, but I have learned to deal with it until I can afford to buy another phone. (my fiance finally got fed up with his and just smashed it!) Another thing, it has a tendancy to take really bad pictures, not only is the quality very fuzzy, but I have found that a lot of the reason that the phone freezes is that the pictures IT takes very often end up being corrupt, even after being on the phone for months. How this happens, I don't know, but I took pictures off my memory card (that were taken with the phone) at my office, and one of my pictures taken 3 months ago not only was the file corrupt, but it currupted the whole office network!! On the plus side, with the corrupt files off the phone, it is no longer frozen (haha) I think this phone could be okay, if all the bugs are worked out, but there are just too many that I don't think that is possible. I have heard and seen so many people have similar issues, freezing, photo problems, memory card issues, etc. It's just a P.O.S. and that's about it, it's a fairly decent-looking POS, but ya know, you can polish a terd but it still is what it is.

yes u can apply skins on ur motorola L7 ..... first of all download a software readily avaliable called as SKINMAN. then download skin files from a web site say u download it from mobile9.com ......... then follow the following steps :- 1. open skinman (it will detect ur phone) 2. go to install option and click it 3. dialouge box appears .... choose the file u downloaded form mobile9.com 4. click on open button 5. skinman will install the skin and a new skin name appears in the skinman window. 6. right click on the newely installed skin in the skinman window and click on the option for ""patch the ski to phone"" thats it!

Hello ppl. I have had my l7 for almost two years now and haven't been able to get any skins for me to use. I am really cautious about poking around and reformating my phone. its kinda okay stuff,looks sleek but can do much better with the quality it offers.....u cant easily download themes... cant do much with fonts and styles, not a reallt long video recording time....comparetively time consuming navigation thru the menues......... and sometimes it really takes too much time to rechrge.............its a gud piece to show off but not worth the money

Honestly this is a good phone i just had the razr and this is nothing like it this phone is only a little bigger than the razr closed it has itunes on it.it has a camera,it has a video camera,it is slimmer,thats not the razr this is a better phone

Ok, so i just got his phone yesterday and i tried to move my sim contacts to my phone. Well not so good, somehow i ended up with repeat entries in the phonebook (one on sim, one on phone). Then i thought i could fix it and have triples. I have no idea how to fix it. I just want my contacts on my phone even if not on sim. And it seems to delete i have to do them one by one and i have 160 contacts. BLahh Someone please clue me in or help me, thanks so much. kmkriel@yahoo.com

i know the way to install themes on moto l7:) first download skiman software and connect your mobile through usb ((SETTINGS->CONNECTIVITY->USB SETTINGS->STORAGE DEVICE->MEMORY CARD)).then download skins from this link http://anmobi.com/category/motorola/motorola-l7-skin/ then open skiman and wait for a minute and click insall in skins.and browse the skins and ur mobile with new skins.
