Hi just wondering if anyone could help me with my problem. Whenever I try to play a mp3 that I've uploaded with the data cable, the song stops halfway and it says "File Format Not Supported." Do all songs have to be 128kbps? Most of mine are currently at a greater kbps. I have the asian version without itunes. Thanks.

not like that u should have itunes installed on ur system then when u insert the data cable it will automatically detect the mobile and what all the songs present in the itunes playlist will get updated into ur mobile like ipod.

Main disadvantages of V3i : 1-U can not transfer music over a bluetooth wireless connection.(page 30 of guide book) 2-Mp3 files can not set as a ringtone unless u transfer them to phone memory.(as the phone memory is limited u can't have a wide choise of selecting mp3 as ringtone.) 3-Managing mp3 files are only available through i-tune mode. 4-U can't move an audio file to phone memory that is working in i-tune mode.If u want to transfer it, u have to copy the audio file from ur computer to ur phone again by draging and droping it (not by i-tune file transfer).so one file can occupy double space on phone memory.

I have had my V3i for about 3 months now, this is the first time ive had motorola. To start with the phone was brill did everything i wanted it to, it had a few annoying things about it like the sms memory etc. Now my phone is broken, it was on charge and suddenly started vibrating on the table and wouldnt stop so i tried to take the battery out and sim etc but now it will not switch on and all it does is vibrate. Only 3 months old and broken and i always look after my phone and it was in excellent condition.

Be warned! After owning the Motorloa V3i for one week its flaws started to show. The problems are mostly with the bluetooth facility, which is terrible. It has a built in Mp3 player which will only transmit voice calls to a bluetooth headset but not music (I bought a Motorola Ht820 headset and after calling the helpline I was told the V3i will not transmit music via bluetooth!). It will also not connect to a TomTom go navigation unit. I have now returned the phone to the dealer and exchanged it for a Samsung D600 which works perfectly, and the HT820 headset is extremely good.

HI... just got MOTORAZR V3i. i was using nokia earlier. Initially it was a bit confusing but now I'm used to this set. Few problems ofcourse which I guess u all have. Hundreds of themes n skins available online but no way to transfer it to V3i. Can transfer songs through Bluetooth. Since only songs in phone memory work as ringtones n only 13mb space is allocated to phone mem. u cant use many mp3 ringtones. songs only play if the flap is open.. doesnt other wise.. or may b that i'ven't experimented much. I have a Razr V3i and it is not the i tunes phone. To get the mp3 to work i use a program called xillisoft audio converter to encode them as lame mp3, after that they all work fine. For video you just get a 3gp converter.

I have two question about my motorola v3i phone : 1. I tried recieving an animated picture ( gif format) via blue tooth from another device but it turned intojpeg on my phone. Is it something normal? 2. I set ringer ID as the ringtone of some of my phonebook entries and actived the ringer ID on the ringer styles settings. But the ringtone applied to the entries will play even for the incoming short messages! Is there any way to adjust the ringer IDs without interfering with the sms alert?!

i'm putting up 2 answers here: 1. songs playing only if the flap is open is becuase ur playing them thru the multimedia section and not thru the itunes. transfer the songs to itunes and u'll be fine. 2. songs dont transfer via bluetooth: whoever told u tht is a complete idiot. songs go i've done it a thousand times. when u wanna send songs just use the copy option, u don not have send option in motorola.

Better than old v3 but not much better. u have to hold the phone absolutely steady to use the camera and photos aren't very good, color looks awful. There is NO iTunes on V3i not as Moto said, it came with a Java Media Player instead which can play MP3 & AAC, but it doesn't run in background means when ur listening to music u can't do anything else with the phone. music sounds good but u don't get mini-USB stereo headset with the phone so wats the point....if u are looking for a itunes/music phone u better off something eles but if a razer phone is all u looking for then go for it.

for the problems with the mp3, motorola can accept only audio format mp3, wav o ram format cannot be played. and about ur mp3 just plat half, yes, motorola can only play a song with max 128kbps because motorola didn't have OS o operating system to play an audio file larger than 128kbps...

hey unlock..try puttin song throug i tunes in AAC format or else u can go n put it in the sounds which is there in the memory card...if its not suporrting the format then try to convert it into mp3 format and then transfer like for eg 3gp is a software from where u can covert n transfer

If you want to put songs in your V3i I recomend the MOTOTUNES program to do that it works great you just select the songs and this program load your selection after resize the selected play list into 128.

To put themes to your V3i you must download MOTOMIDMAN when you want to change the skin of your mobile first of all you must open the MOTOMIDMAN, then you can open the SKIMAN to load the skin you want.

Bottomline I've had this phone 3 months and I'm pissed! Websites say up to 100 songs in then itunes I can't get more than 50 and its not close to being full on memory. It simply says songs 50/50.. MP3 format.. good luck. My ringtones work but trying to put a full song.. even with the 2GB memory card upgrade most of the time I get the file not valid message. The speaker stinks, this phone has been in a protective case since the day I got it. Extremely well taken care of, yet if I try to record video or talk to someone on speaker you can't hear ANYTHING! It just suddenly crapped out. And my god this thing isn't that old! And good luck with the camera too. My friend got a nokia *no fancy itunes name on it* but he certainly has made out better than me. His camera is amazing, sound is great. And well quite frankly its a much more sturdy phone. I try to go on media net and its just depressing, on his it loads right away and beautifully. I'm depressed.. two years I'll be stuck with this peice of crap!

Oh yea also as noted earlier by someone else.. I bought a 250 dollar head set that I can talk to people on wonderfully but can't listen to music because the blue tooth won't do that.

Try to install an older version of itunes. Check out oldversion.com , they have all the versions: 7.0.1 , 7 , 6.0.5 , 6.0.4 , 6.0.3 ...

just bought v3i last week..seem so better than others phones. i can install java games..which is b4 i used it to my nokia suck damn phone(it brings a lot more problems that i experienced). i can install themes..n skin. no problem at all with mp3's transfer..nice looking wth the glass screen. no need to put a screen protector. Until now i have 6 moto phones and finally i settled for V3i. An excellent phone with all the necessary features. I have a razr and after a year and a half.... basically; i can't wait to get rid of it. My keyboard is barely working; my arrows and my 9 isn't working. i mean what if i need to call 911? I'd have to call 411 and be like "yes, can you connect me to an ambu-"*chokes* I can't use my 9 which means i can't use my w,x,y and z. I write vv for w, >< for x, i for y and s for z. it's so retarded. The keyboard sucks! But it does store enough pictures.

if u guys are thinking how to download songs to your phone and the error pops out unable to connect to phone n shit its this problem.dont use the motorolla softwarejust go to connectivity in ur phone and go to usb setting and change to memory card and ur pc will auto matically work as a usb and walla u can send pics and music. try it it will work cheers

Can anyone tell me how to find the lifetime in this v3i model.

i dont have a PHONE icon in my itunes when i plug the usb into the cell. i dont have connection+usb so idk what to do. im getting mad. plz help a chica out!

Phone still works great after 2.5 years. U can put a 2Gb micro-sd card in it. Have never had problems with mp3. Modding works great (different themes, louder ringtones, ...). Have never had problems with bluetooth (is linked with my tomtom navigator in my car. Screen, shape, camera is great. It's a good phone. For those who want to use it as an mp3 player and are disappointed: BUY an F***ing mp3-player and not an phone.

i am trying to figure out if the motorola razor has speaker phone. and if so how would i be able to turn speaker phone on during a conversation? please help me! im going crazyyyyy!!!

Motorolla v3I - I need to transfer the Phone Nos Via Bluetooh to another phone. This is not possible to sent the Whols Phone Book. pls advice
