a. By installing this skin, or making ANY modifications to your phone, you are agreeing to take complete responsibility for your own actions. You agree to hold the author blameless for any unexpected or undesired results.
b. Make sure you've read and understand the following guides : - Customizing the Motorola Vxxx (http://www.xlr8.us/hofo) - Motorola Hacker's Bible (http://www.mobile-review.com/forum2/showthread.php?t=16917) - Create/Delete Additional Skin Directories (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=551284)
- Install (FOLLOW CAREFULLY!)
1. To add the directory for this skin, please refer to the Flex Guide found in the "/flex" directory of this distribution, otherwise, you may rename and replace the skin files after which this skin was based upon with the files located in the "/skins" directory. Before uploading these files however, each should be renamed to the skin that was used as this skin's base template.
(e.g. If this skin was based on the Scarlet base template, you would rename skin files to: "Scarlet.ski, Scarlet.dat, Scarlet1.dat, and Scarlet2.dat)
2. Use P2KTools to upload the skin files to their destination directories. Note that when overwriting "/a/mobile/system/cl.gif", you will have to change the file attributes of cl.gif (that exists ON THE PHONE) to 70000 (writeable) before you may replace it (this same rule applies to any file you may replace). Change the file attributes using the options in P2KTools located under the "Attributes" section (middle-left). (NOTE: If this skin distribution contains the directories "/a" and "/audio", then GIF animations and mp3 sounds for the startup and shutdown events have been included.)
Transfer the files from the skin's zip archive to the destination directory located on the phone:
(zip dir) to (phone dir) ------------------------------------- /a/* to /a /audio/* to /a/mobile/audio
/skins/* to /a/mobile/skins/[skinname] /picture/* to /a/mobile/picture
/system/* to /a/mobile/system
3. If you uploaded audio files during the last step you need to DELETE the following files: (IF THESE FILES ARE NOT DELETED, YOU MAY TEMPORARILY DISABLE AUDIO ON YOUR PHONE.)
- /a/mobile/audio/MyToneDB.db - /a/mobile/audio/TempToneDB.db
4. Restart your phone to rebuild the audio databases.
5. Go to Main Menu > Settings > Personalize > Skin and select the skin name to enable it.
6. Done! Please login or register to download this file. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
