Casio Hitachi NX9200 G'zOne Phone The Casio Hitachi NX9200 approved by FCC is the US version of the popular G'zOne phone of Casio’s. Casio and Hitachi merged their phone operations in 2004 and now they have come up with this phone that incorporates all the engineering cues of Casio's G-Shock watch line and it sports in the FCC documents a Verizon logo, so it will probably be carried by Verizon.

Casio NX9200, clamshell CDMA phoneis water and shock resistant.
It includes 1.3 megapixel cameras for taking better quality snapshots, a music player for the entertainment of music lovers and a digital compass. In the U.S. version EV-DO high-speed data and stub antenna is added.

Casio Hitachi generally develop phones for Japanese but with KDDI, G’zOne is introduced in Korea in May 2005 and the company brought the G’zOne to Korea in December and in the same time they entered the U.S. market.

G'Zone Review
I have owned a Verizon G'Zone for a couple of weeks. I am somewhat disappointed. Here's why:
1. The electronic compass function is removed, perhaps to encourage paying for the GPS service
2. No cable availabe to connect the phone to a computer (although Verizon had a cable to transfer my contacts from one phone to the new G'Zone). So, to use pictures, you have to email them to yourself.
3. You cannot batch pictures, each one must be emailed separately, at a "per-email" cost.
4. Voice Command totally useless. I have a clear, non accented voice. I just doesn't work, and I've heard that from other users as well.
5. The optional (at extra cost) clip/holster is made nicely, but for small belts. Most people doing outdoor work have heavy duty belts (cops, construction, hikers, etc.) and the clip won't fit.

GZone V
I love the ruggedness of this phone because I cycle and hike a lot! What I don't like is that the ring tones are not loud enough, voice command option does not work!!! And skimpy on the accessories that come with the phone!! Casio, you better give a recall on these functions that don't work!!!!

BROKEN CALLER ID/HISTORY!!!
This phone started off really Great, in October of 2009, but then it started to freeze up in January of 2010 (Not functioning/receiving calls). I took it to the local IT&E store, and they simply reset the phone. It worked for 1 one, but when I was on the phone and I was receiving an incoming call or text, the phone screen would show snowy lines and distort. Now 2 weeks later, the phone is in the shop again, but it just cannot show the call history or even identify any of the incoming callers. This is no longer a phone; it's a really expensive clock!
